(Sep 22, (CGTN Africa))--United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has praised the peace treaty between Ethiopia and Eritrea as historic.The two nations recently re-established diplomatic ties. Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed Ali, and Eritrean President, Isaias Afwerki, signed a peace accord in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.
The terms of the agreement are not clear, but it's understood to be an extension of the declaration of friendship inked in July. The signing ceremony was overseen by King Salman and Guterres.
