Sudan to supply Ethiopian hydro power to Eritrea

(May 12, 2013, (Energy Business Review))--The government of Sudan has revealed its plan to supply electricity generated from the Ethiopian hydro power project to Eritrea.

Sudan is expected to buy 100MW of electricity from the 6,000MW Grand Renaissance hydro project, which is being developed in Ethiopia. Upon completion in 2017, the project is said to be largest project in Africa.

A work on a 45km power line between eastern Sudan's Kassala state to Eritrea, has already been started by Sudanese Electricity Transmission Company. Read more from Energy Business Review »
