(Aug 2013, (CHARLOTTE, N.C))--A man accused of stabbing his wife and two teenage sons with a knife and axe overnight Monday was supposed to appear in court on Tuesday. Police say 57-year-old Muruts Hailu used a knife and an axe to attack them at the family’s apartment on Wendover Road.
Hailu was scheduled to have a bond hearing Tuesday, but he needed an Ethiopian translator so the hearing will have to be rescheduled. According to the police received a 911 call around 2:30 a.m. from a distraught 16-year-old boy.
When police arrived at the Hampton Crest apartments, they found the boy’s 15-year-old brother lying on the hallway floor and his mother lying on a bedroom floor. Police believe Hailu used a knife and axe to attack them during an argument. Read more from Crime in Charlotte »
