(August 09/2012, Addis Ababa )--A higher level Ethiopian government delegation led by Speaker of the House of Federation (HoF) Kassa Tekleberhan attended the funeral of Ghanaian President John Atta Mills.
According to a statement HoF sent to ENA on Thursday, Kassa on the occasion said that during his term in office the late President John Atta Mills contributed share to further enhance the relation between Ethiopia and Ghana.
Kassa said the president, who came to power in 2009, carried out various activities in particular to strengthen the African Union.Born in 1944, President Mills was educated at Achimota School, where he completed the Advanced Level Certificate in 1963, and the University of Ghana, Legon, where he received a bachelor's degree and professional certificate in law in 1967.
In 1968, John Atta Mills studied at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and received a PhD at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.Mills is succeeded by the country’s vice president, John Dramani Mahama.
