(May 19, 2011, erta.gov)--The National Council that was established to mobilize and coordinate public participation for the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam project will take over its job Friday, Hailemariam Desalegn, Ethiopian Deputy PM and FM, told a press conference Thursday.

The Council was set up in such a way that ensures extensive involvement of the public, he said.
It was instituted in such a way that enables the government to manage the task effectively.
The Council is composed of 75 members who represent various sections of the society.
In what would be its first regular meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s office on Friday, the Council would be looking into three agendas, Hailemariam noted.
The three agendas include progress, so far, of the Renaissance Dam project, the Council’s course of action and future directions.
