(Wednesday, May 25, Khartoum)- Egypt and Sudan have accepted an Ethiopian proposal for forming a tripartite technical committee to study the impact of controversial "Great MillenniumDam" being built in Ethiopia, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hussein el-Atfi told reporters on Tuesday 24/5/2011.
Atfi arrived in Khartoum on Monday for talks on boosting coordination and unifying stands over the Nile file.
The minister said talks with his Sudanese counterpart Kamal Ali Ahmed on coordinating the two countries' stance regarding the framework agreement on the Nile water.
He said the cooperation among Nile basin countries will be based on mutual interests.
