HAILE GEBRSELASSIE. As the London Marathon prepares for its 30th running on April 17, Press Association Sport's Guy Aspin takes a look at five of the best athletes to grace the race.
A controversial choice perhaps given he has not won the race in three attempts - he was third on his marathon debut in 2002, ninth in 2006 and did not finish in 2007 - but any marathon list can not be without the greatest distance runner in history.
The 37-year-old Ethiopian is four-time winner of the Berlin Marathon, three-time winner of the Dubai Marathon, past winner of the Amsterdam and Fukuoka Marathons, and the marathon world record holder.
