(December 22, 2010, PITTSBURGH)--An Ethiopia native was arrested in Pittsburgh's Station Square on Sunday after police said he was driving under the influence.
According to police records, Dawit Assres, 24, drove through a parking gate around 2:30 a.m. The police report said two Pittsburgh officers who were working an off-duty job nearby heard the crash and responded to the scene.
The officers said Assres was trying to flee the scene but got stuck in traffic.When the officers caught up with him, the report said he berated one female officer saying,
"I'm from Ethiopia and women don't talk to me this way. I'll see you later out of uniform. I don't take [expletive] from women."Assres is facing several charges including terroristic threats and DUI.
