Bad weather in Europe affects Ethiopian flower export

APA-Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) Ethiopia’s flower export to Europe has been severely affected due to the current weather condition in that continent with the export reduced by 50 per cent since the past few weeks due to the snow storm, APA learnt here on Wednesday.
Ethiopia’s Flower and Vegetable Exporter Association said that Ethiopia’s flower export is being affected severely for lack of demand in Europe due to the weather condition in many parts of this continent.
Many flowers shop reported to have been closed due to the weather condition in Europe, which severely affecting the flower market.
The association said also that the price of flower in Europe has also been reduced.
“This situation is a serious concern for the horticultural industry not only in Ethiopia, but also for other flower exporting countries,” said the association.
Since the past few years, Ethiopia became one of the main flower exporter countries to Europe and is getting over US$ 300 million per annum.
